With more than 32 years of experience managing depreciation and valuation projects for the firm, John oversees the day-to-day operations and performance of the Gannett Fleming Valuation and Rate Consultants, LLC, which conducts depreciation and rate studies and other ratemaking services for water, wastewater, gas and electric utilities, pipelines, and railroads.
John is a certified depreciation professional and technical specialist in public utility plant depreciation and plant original cost. John oversees data for depreciation studies, conducts statistical analyses of accounting data, updates continuing property records, estimates service life, and calculates annual and accrued depreciation. In addition, he has presented expert testimony in more than 300 proceedings in 40 jurisdictions. He also conducts field inspections to estimate service lives and verify property records for original cost, bond indenture, and depreciation studies.
John holds a bachelor of science in industrial management and mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University and a master of business administration from York College of Pennsylvania. Active in professional associations, he is a past president of the Society of Depreciation Professionals and a member of the American Gas Association Industry Accounting Committee.
